The connection between sustainable investing and clean energy may seem obvious, but it’s not easy to define. It’s tempting to think of the intersection of two large circles, but that really doesn’t come close to capturing the relationship. <\/p>\n
Clean energy covers a range of technologies and market sectors, and runs the gamut from emerging technology startups, to project finance to large global corporations and across multiple industries. Sustainable investors and investing opportunities can be found across the entire spectrum. A more appropriate analogy might be a combination of a fruit salad and a vegetable medley – including items like tomatoes which defy easy categorization – with the investor trying to figure out what she wants to put on her plate to eat. <\/p>\n
As an active member of both the Boston Security Analysts Society (BSAS) and the Northeast Clean Energy Council (NECEC), I often feel like I’m among either fruit eaters or vegetable eaters trying to explain the buffet. So working with colleagues from both worlds, we’ve put together a BSAS breakfast session on Investing in Clean Energy on June 9th in Boston.<\/b>. <\/p>\n
