US investments in sustainable funds grew in 2025 despite strong political headwinds.  Sustainable and ESG funds totaled $6.6 trillion in assets under management (AUM).  This represents 11% of the $61.2 trillion US investment market.

This is among the headline findings in the 2025 Sustainable Investing market is included in the 30th anniversary edition of US SIF’s Sustainable Investing Trends report.

In another interesting finding that moves beyond the anecdotal, the administration-led attack on sustainable investing is not having a significant impact – with 62% saying the political environment had no impact on their sustainable investing decisions – and even generating a anti-backlash effect, with 22% of respondents reporting increasing their sustainable investments.
