We continue our series building on the recently released CFA Institute report on climate change analysis in the investment process with an exploration of the life cycle of emissions approach developed by Mirova, one of ten firms highlighted in the CFA Institute report.
While climate analysis and investing are relatively new to the industry, some firms have pioneered investment approaches that thoughtfully integrate climate risk and opportunity. This practical application event will be structured as a due diligence interview, taking attendees through a deep-dive of Mirova as a firm and their climate integrated investment approach. Topics covered will include: structure of the investment team, investment philosophy and process, climate data approach, scenario analysis and benchmarking relative to climate pathways and standard indices, and discussion of company and industry investment examples.
Following introductory remarks by report author Matt Orsagh of CFA Institute, CFA Boston’s Andrew Wetzel will lead our conversation with Mirova’s Jens Peers. Jens is Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer for Mirova US. He joined Mirova in 2013. Mr. Peers served previously as head of portfolio management at Kleinwort Benson Investors in Dublin, Ireland, where he focused on environmental strategies for water, agribusiness and clean tech.
