The explosive growth of sustainable investing has been accompanied by a parallel growth in frameworks and standards for creating and disclosing information in support of decision making. Investors, investment professionals and reporting companies feel overwhelmed and have been increasingly calling for increased coherence, cooperation and convergence.

In September 2020, five organizations (SASB, IIRC, GRI, CDP & CDSB) announced their intent to collaborate toward comprehensive corporate reporting. Two months later, in November 2020, SASB & IIRC announced their intent to merge. The merger of SASB & IIRC to create the Value Reporting Foundation was completed in June 2021. As with corporate M&A, it’s only once the merger is completed that you can begin to fairly assess the impact.

Please join the CFA Boston Sustainable Investing initiative on Thursday, October 21st at 12:00 noon as we bring together two senior leaders of the new VRF – one from SASB and one from the IIRC – to provide insight into what has changed with the creation of the VRF and how its work will evolve. In addition to the organizational overview, our panelists will cover the emerging policy discussion with global regulators and a comparison of the FSA credential to the CFA certificate in ESG investing.

Registration for this free webinar is here at the CFA Boston web site.
